Hypnotherapy is an alternative form of therapy that has been proven to be very successful. It can be used for a whole variety of things including stopping with smoking, weight control, relaxation, confidence boost, getting rid of phobias such as claustrophobia, agoraphobia, fears, getting rid of nightmares, insomnia, pain management, and enhancing memory. Even past life regression is done through hypnosis.
Louise offers a free first consultation so that you can come and talk about hypnotherapy, and learn more about it. This gives you the opportunity to decide for yourself whether you believe hypnotherapy can work for you. In this consultation Louise can also give you a free short demonstration so you know what being under hypnosis feels like.
Mental Health Counseling:
Louise has worked in the mental health field since 2002, and is licensed in both Idaho and Oregon. She has worked in a variety of therapeutic settings, and this variety has given her a vast array of experience working with a wide range of individuals. Different settings Louise has worked in has included:
– Residential institution for teenage girls with mental health challenges
- Outpatient children’s therapist
– Outpatient adult’s therapist
– Working in-home with families involved with child protective services
– Community based services with the severely and persistently mentally ill
– Correctional Institutions
Louise strives to incorporate a holistic approach in her practice, recognizing the uniqueness of each individual. She believes in considering all of the aspects of the self, and as a client, you will experience the multilayered aspects of her approach.
As a member of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH), Louise adheres to the WPATH Standards of Care. Having worked closely with the transgendered community, Louise is able to provide a compassionate and personal approach in her counseling with transgendered individuals. She has been listed as an approved provider with the Oregon DMV, and is also able to write referral letters for transitional care, including referrals for surgery.
Licensed Supervision Towards LCPC/LPC:
Louise is currently licensed as a supervisor with the licensing boards of Idaho and Oregon. If you have graduated and are looking for a supervisor to provide supervision towards licensing as an LCPC or LPC, Louise can provide this service.
Louise’s vision as a mental health professional is to be able to incorporate a holistic approach in her practice. She recognizes the uniqueness of each individual, and believes that combining knowledge of traditional as well as holistic counseling will greatly benefit her clients. Louise acknowledges the value that there are so many aspects that make up the whole. She believes that to help an individual recover and improve their mental health, the individual has to be seen as unique, where all of the aspects of the self need to be taken into consideration. She believes that education in traditional counseling is effective, but not sufficient. Louise wishes to be able to add to her knowledge of traditional counseling, and to be able to contribute to the field of holistic health. When Louise is not providing mental health services or learning new ways to enhance her skills in the field, she enjoys playing the harp. She is presently the principal harpist with the Meridian Symphony and Serenata Symphony, and has also played with Opera Idaho, the Treasure Valley Symphony, No Greater Love Symphony, Music Theatre of Idaho, and Boise Music Week!
