Frances Zucco, LCPC

Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor

– LCPC 5467

I have always wanted to be a counselor. In high school I was voted “Best Shoulder to Lean On”. Since then I have obtained my Bachelor’s in Psychology from Cleveland State University and then my Master’s in Community Mental Health Counseling from John Carroll University. I have worked in a variety of settings and with a variety of cultures. I am from Ohio but have lived in Hawaii for much of my career and adult life. I have focused on trauma and trauma related family issues from the beginning of my career in substance abuse, domestic violence, and child abuse. I was honored to begin working with active duty military personnel and their families in Hawaii and then so grateful to continue working with them in Alaska, Saipan, North Dakota, Kentucky, Colorado, and Tennessee focusing on deployment (pre/post) concerns.

I had my own practice in Hawaii for many years and focused my work on children, families, and adults dealing with trauma. I worked with foster care and adoptive families as well as military families all dealing with trauma and reintegration issues. I moved to Idaho in February of 2014 and obtained my certification in Cognitive Behavioral Trauma Focused Therapy and continue working with children and adults learning how to cope with trauma.

My approach to therapy is relationship based and acceptance driven. I believe that we all need to accept who we are first and then learn how to grow and change. I am supportive and see myself more of a guide and a teacher. Therapy is hard work but I also believe that bringing creativity and flexibility is important especially when working with children, teens, and families!!!

I received my Masters of Arts degree in 1998 specializing in Community Mental Health Counseling. I obtained my independent practice licensure in 2000. I have been a member of the National Board of Certified Counselor’s since 1996. I recently obtained the Cognitive Behavioral Trauma Focused Certification in 2014. I am clinically trained in solution focused cognitive behavioral therapy with an emphasis on trauma and trauma related therapies.

I provide Individual and Family therapy (Children, Teens, and Adults).
My specialty is trauma focused therapy for children, teens, and adults. I have extensive experience with Active and Reserve Military/Veterans and family members (adults and children).
My fee for counseling is $60-$100 per hour, with limited sliding fee scale availability. I am a provider for most insurances so please call me to verify.
